The Charlottetown Mark's Work Wearhouse Islanders have made it 4 straight wins with a 3 - 1 victory over the Halifax Titan this morning at the Gatineau Kiwanis International Tournament. The teams played a scoreless first period before Halifax forward Brandon Boutilier opened the scoring at 4:13 of the second period assisted by Kevin Jackson. The Islanders tied the score at 16:49 of the second when Brandon Weir cashed in on a crossice pass from Alex Gallant and Brad MacKenzie. The third period continued with Stephen Miller once again making some key saves for the Islanders and then Jordan McInnis scored the eventual winner on the powerplay at 4:32 completing a 3 way passing play with Brad MacKenzie and Harrison Wood. The game then heated up and with 12 minutes to play halifax had a 5 on 3 powerplay with J.C. Dawson and brad MacKenzie making key shot blocks and Miller did the rest until J.C. Dawson sealed the victory at 19;53 into an empty net assisted by Brad MacKenzie his third assist of the game. Halifax outshot the Islanders 39 - 19 but they could only beat Miller once. Brad MacKenzie was chosen the Islanders game star.
The Islanders next game will be today at 3:30pm at the Sabourin Arena against the Ottawa 67's.
