The Islanders improved to 3 - 0 at the Gatineau Kiwanis Tournament with a 2 - 1 victory over the Rice Memorial Knights High School from Vermont, USA. J.C. Dawson opened the scoring for the Islanders at 4:22 of the first period when he pounced on a rebound of a Ross Johnston shot in close and buried the rebound. The score stayed this way until 3:32 of the third when Jarrod Levos scored on the powerplay burying the rebound following up on a shot by Nick Strowbridge. The game went back and forth with Ryan Deagle of the Islanders and Rice goalie Brandon Lane each making key saves until 15:50 when Cleve McNeill's point shot found its way through a screen just under the crossbar for the game winner assisted by Craig MacLauchlan. Rice outshot the Islanders 28 - 24. Cleve McNeill was picked as the Islanders game star. The Islanders next opponent will be determined later today.
