The Canadians jumped out to a 2 - 0 first period lead on goals by Paul Comeau from Brett Barnhill at 2:40 and Alex Murray from Riley Dickie at 9:09. The Islanders outshot the Canadians 11 - 9 in the period. Brandon Gaudet on the powerplay at 3:21 cut the lead in half with assists from Craig Dougan and Brandon Weir. The Islanders outshot the Canadians in the second period 16 - 13. Ross Johnston scored on a breakaway at 1:14 of the third to tie the game at 2 - 2 assisted by Jordan McInnis and Craig MacLauchlan. The Canadians took the lead back at 3:35 on a powerplay goal by Riley Dickie assisted by Thomas Daley. The Islanders knotted the score at 3 - 3 when Daniel Muise pounced on a loose puck at 7:01 and beat Zack Daigle from the slot assisted by Max MacDonald and Craig MacLauchlan. The Islanders completed the comeback when Jordan McInnis scored on a wrap around at 13:52 assisted by Craig Dougan and Ryan Kelly. The Islanders outshot the Canadians in the third period 16 - 7. Stephen Miller picked up the win for the Islanders stopping 26 of the 29 shots he faced while Zack Daigle suffered the loss while stopping 39 of the 43 shots the Islanders fired at him.
