Cody Coffin made it 2- 0 at 9:13 with a slap shot as he crossed the Miramichi blueline assisted by Alex Gallant and Ross Johnston. Blake Millman on a passout from Jeremy Balderston and Brandon Weir at 10:43 scored the eventual game winner. Craig Dougan on the powerplay closed out the scoring in the first pouncing on a lose puck at 19:19 assisted by Jeremy Balderston and Cody Coffin. The Islanders outshot the Rivermen 18 - 9 in the period. The Rivermen scored the only goal of the second when Trey Lewis scored at 3:37 on a slapshot from the high slot assisted by Rankyn Campbell and Alexander Scully. The Rivermen outshot the Islanders 14 - 8 in the second. Alexander Scully assisted by Dannick Theriault and Phillippe Arseneau scored at 8:32 of the third when the Islanders were caught running around in their own end. Islanders centremen Alex Gallant won 3 key faceoffs late in the third period in his own end when the Rivermen had pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker. Ryan Deagle picked up his first win of the season stopping 35 of the 37 shots he faced while Mallett stopped 30 of the 34 shots that came his way.
